Today, I woke up shortly before 7am. After the long day yesterday and the short night, I was very tired and even managed to fall back a sleep. Even if it was only for 15 minutes. Then my alarm rang and I had to get ready and eat breakfast before we headed out towards the vineyard near Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey around 8am.
Upon arriving at the vineyard, I was once again overwhelmed by the view. Even last year, I couldn’t get enough of it and back then the weather was mediocre. Today not only the view but also the weather was breathtaking.

The Rhône had an unbelievable color this morning.

We were a few people fewer than yesterday but still quite a few. The harvest went by in a jiffy and we were done in less than 3 hours. Afterwards we had – as always – a big picnic.
While the food was set out, a large group of motorcyclists rode past us. Most of them waved at us, only a few I managed to capture properly on camera. Patrick wanted to take a picture of me and Michael on my camera. We were standing on the brick wall next to the street and he lay down on the street below us to take the shot.

I'm so immensely grateful for my experiences here.

After lunch, we went back to the house. There I helped unloading before I was completely exhausted. At first, I set down with Clémence and Luc’s mum on the terrace where I edited photos and uploaded them. Later I lay down and took a nap. I didn’t really feel much fitter afterwards. After some time, I finally managed to get up and I sat back down on the terrace to write my blog.
While I was sitting there, I saw one of the chickens digging a whole in the flower bed. Soil was flying everywhere! I quickly went inside to get my camera before lying down on the floor to try and get a good shot.
Today, we had a really early dinner at around 7pm because we were all completely exhausted. Even though we were super tired, we laughed and joked a lot. Luc and Clémence went to bed around 9pm; Michael went to his Grangeon not much later and I’ll be going to bed early, too. Tomorrow will be off and I hope that I’ll get to sleep in a bit. In what capacity that will be possible with the small bundle of energy named Mélina running around is yet to be seen.
