This morning, I woke up very early when Clémence left for work. I'm used to that from last year and managed to fall asleep again. At least until Mélina woke up because she's just a bundle of energy. After Luc brought Mélina to her Nounou, we started working.

We pressed two wines today. Before lunch, we emptied the first fermentation tank, pressed the wine and cleaned everything again; After lunch, we pressed the secon wine. With the first wine, it was my job to empty the fermentation tank.

Michael filled the press and Luc helped to loosen the grapes from time to time. Sometimes it was easier using my hands, so I looked like a mess when we were done. And I was a bit tipsy also, because the alcohol does have its effects, even when only inhaling it.

Pressing takes a while, so I took some pictures.

The grapes were so rich that the barrel into which we pumped the wine even overflowed. We then pumped a lot into another barrel and were able to prevent the worst from happening.

In front of the wine cellar, a praying mantis bathed in the sun and cleaned itself. The light was very interesting and thus the best pictures of the day were created.

After lunch, we continued with the second wine. Michael said jokingly that he wants to get into the fermentation tank. Then Luc instructed him to take off his shoes and pants, to wash his feet, and climb in. After a moment's hesitation, Michael did just that and emptying the container was so much quicker and we had a good laugh.

I got a bit wet while cleaning the boxes and the tank, but today it was 25°C, so I just sat in the sun for a while and was dry again in no time, while enjoying the weather and the view.

While the second wine was in the press, Luc went grocery shopping, and Michael and I played with Jabba.

We had a relaxed afternoon and early evening. After dinner, we then emptied the press before we, the wwoofers, finished working at around 9.30pm.
