After a very restless night, there was no falling back asleep after 7am. I have a pretty bad cold and woke up several times because I could barely breathe. Mélina woke up at 6am and made a lot of noise, so last night wasn’t very restful for me.
After breakfast, we started off at 8.30am towards a vineyard in Corbonod, which is about an hour away from the house. Upon arriving there, we started with harvesting the white grapes, altesse. When we were done with that, we had lunch at 11am on a meadow next to the vineyard. After we were done eating, I took some pictures before we harvested the red grapes, mondeuse.
We were really fast again and back home in the early afternoon. There, I sat down in the sun on the terrace for a bit, while the men unloaded the grapes from the trailers. Later, I laid down for a while and tried to sleep, but I didn’t succeed, thanks to my stuffed nose. So I went back outside into the sun again.
Clémence gave me some essential oils and made me a tea. That helped a bit. In the evening, I took some medication and for the first time in several days I could breathe through my nose again. What a feeling!
For dinner we had lentil soup, which Clémence apologized for after Luc told her that I don’t like lentils. It`s okay, though, because – besides snails – it’s the only food that I do not like. After dinner, Clémence made some lemon tea with rum and honey for Michael and me, so I guess I’ll sleep well tonight!
Maybe I’ll be able to sleep in tomorrow. I have the morning off, so I won’t set an alarm and I’ll try and get some rest. In the afternoon, Michael and I will probably pick apples – unless there is another wine emergency.
